I think that your brain is pretty awesome, personally! My thoughts jump around somewhat (being the mom of a kid with autism, I suppose the apple doesn’t always fall too far from the tree). I’ve always thought that it *predisposed* me towards multitasking, because I find myself working for a short while on one thing, thinking of something else and switching to working on that for a while, etc. It’s kind of a circular process, eventually I work my way back around to working on Thing One again. I guess the difference is that I can force myself to focus a little bit if the thing I am working on has a deadline….
I’m glad that you’ll be devoting some of yourself towards Disability Studies — the field needs you!

Your post made me think too, until I lost my train of thought because something else came into my mind. And that something else was remembering how I spent a half hour today tracing and re-tracing my steps at work because every time I got to one side of the building, I’d get distracted with another thought then wander back to the other side to try and remember the original thought, until I got there and remembered there was an ORIGINAL original thought and I had to turn around again.
