		<description>I&#039;m not sure it should be removed from the DSM.  Homosexuality isn&#039;t necessarily a fair comparison, I think, though I can see the appeal.  You can&#039;t improve someone&#039;s ability to act straight with therapy (not in a meaningful way), but you can improve someone&#039;s ability to act NT with therapy (which is the point of therapy, as I understand it).  The DSM is not just mental disorders, it includes a large variety of developmental disorders, and autism is a legitimate part of that group.</description>

They&#039;re both right, it should be removed from the DSM, as homosexuality was removed. Well, change comes slowly, and this change is at least a welcome one, for most of us.</description>
